ebsite Search Tips
Not finding what you’re looking for? Try the following:
- Search under alternate spellings.
For example, instead of First, try 1st. Instead of Danang try Da Nang.
- Use a single unique word.
For example, instead of Capture of the Bridge at Remagen, try Remagen.
- Search under keyword or phrase instead of title.
Phrases are two or more words that must appear in sequence, such as Special Forces or Da Nang or Operation County Fair or USS Mount Baker. Use quote marks when searching for phrases. For example, "Special Forces" or "Fort Benning" or "USS Mount Baker".
If you are looking for a set of keywords that are topical, such as Marines Vietnam, you will get all videos that have both words in the description of the video. It is better to narrow your search, such as Marines Saigon, or simply Saigon. You can also search by topic, such as Marine Corps titles or World War II, using the buttons on the home page.
- Hyphenated words
, such as M-14, may be entered with or without quotes. The results might be different. It is usually better to use a proper noun rather than a hyphenated aircraft designation or a ship's hull number. For example,
Corsair is better than F-4U. Oriskany is better than CVA-34.
- Check the alphabetical list of titles
, available by going back to the home page and scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking on the buttom labeled "Alphabetical List of All Titles".
- Still can't find it?
